As we reflect on the last month within the nation, one identifiable issue that seems to be permeating multiple aspects of society is the question of First Amendment protections and limitations. Ironically, (or perhaps luckily) Dr. Emmerich decided to tackle that very issue in this particular semester through his class First Amendment and American Democracy at ONU. The class has been going strong now for a few weeks, and, as always, Dr. Emmerich stresses the religious implications of our Constitution and the numerous protections it offers to American Christians; for example, the freedoms of religion and speech.
Come what may in terms of censoring in the nation at large, The Center is still committed to promoting free speech to aid in the flow of ideas in our little corner of heaven.
