Zach Bohannon

Director

Zach Bohannon served as The Center’s Director from 2014 until 2016. Hired under the auspices of the unique Center-Olivet partnership, Zach oversaw day-to-day operations; constituent relations; and student recruiting for the Law, Justice, and Culture Institute. Prior to his full-time responsibilities as Center Director, he served as a volunteer advocate for the Center in his native area of greater Cincinnati. In this role, Zach coordinated several gatherings at which Dr. Emmerich shared the Center’s mission with business leaders, attorneys, politicians, political activists, educators, stay-at-home parents, pastors, doctors, and other concerned citizens.
Zach earned a B.S. in Mass Communication and an M.A. in Religion from Olivet Nazarene University and has experience in advancement, Christian education, local government, and politics.
He is a 2014 graduate of the Law, Justice, and Culture Institute, and currently lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jake Wagner

Project Manager

Jake Wagner was employed at the Center from 2015 to early 2018. Originally hired as a student intern, Jake became the Center Project Manager upon his graduation from Olivet. There he oversaw projects related to the Center’s basic operations. Jake’s time at the Center saw an unprecedented level of interest in the Legal Studies Minor as well as increased opportunities for students involved in Olivet’s Center-sponsored Law and Politics Society. Jake assisted Dr. Emmerich in making the Center indispensable in these two capacities.
Jake graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 2017. He earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice with a secondary major in Political Science, and minors in Legal Studies, Sociology, and History.
Jake currently lives in Michigan, and is a 2015 graduate of the Law, Justice, and Culture Institute.

Joshua Dille

Teaching Assistant

Joshua Dille previously served as Dr. Emmerich’s Teaching Assistant and the Secretary of Olivet’s Center-sponsored Law and Politics Society. He graduated from Olivet in 2017, and now attends the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.

Josh is a graduate of the 2015 Law, Justice and Culture Institute.

Mattheus L. Mitchel

Administrative Director

Mattheus L. Mitchel stepped up to serve as Administrative Director from January to May 2018 while a student at Olivet. After graduating with a double major in Political Science & History and a minor in Legal Studies, he continued his professional life in the field of Government Administration and Accountability.

Mattheus credits his time at the Center and the mentorship of Dr. Emmerich for instilling in him a strong sense of Civic Virtue, and what will be a life long dedication to the principles of Justice and Biblical scholarship.

RachelRachel Schramm

Director of Public Relations and Marketing

Rachel Schramm earned her Public Relations & Strategic Communication degree and Legal Studies minor at Olivet Nazarene University. She is now a Graduate Assistant in the Communication Department pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration with a nonprofit focus. She is from the Metro Detroit area in Michigan and has been working at the Center since September 2017. During her years at Olivet, she launched ONU’s chapter of a Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and helped launch a student-run agency out of the Communications Department, Inspired Strategies Agency. She also worked for the Associated Student Government (ASC) at Olivet as the Executive Officer of Student Relations where she managed all the clubs and spent her past summer working at Compassion International in Colorado Springs. Her dream career is to work somewhere that makes the world a better place, and her current vision for that is working her way up to a high administrative position for a large nonprofit organization. Rachel worked for the Center in a public relations role with the primary purpose of raising the Center’s visibility on campus.

Brennan Carter

Administrative Assistant, Teaching Assistant, and Website Manager

Brennan Carter is a junior double majoring in History and Business Administration with a minor in Legal Studies. He currently resides in Indianapolis. Brennan was involved in the Center-sponsored group The Law and Politics Society, for which he served as the events coordinator. Additionally, Brennan served as a Resident Assistant in University Place Apartments and as a junior class representative for the Associated Student Council. Brennan intends to graduate from Olivet and attend graduate school to pursue a dual JD/MBA degree. He then aspires to work as lawyer in the corporate sector.

Brennan is a 2018 graduate of the Law, Justice, and Culture Institute.

Lance F. Baumgartner

Administrative Assistant, Teaching Assistant, and Contributing Writer

Lance Baumgartner is an Advocate and Administrative Assistant for the Center for Law and Culture and joined the Center in Fall 2017. In his role as a Center Advocate, Baumgartner worked to promote and recruit for Legal Studies, LPS and other events for the Center of Law and Culture. Further duties included providing academic support to fellow students and preforming various office tasks as needed. As a Center Administrative Assistant, Baumgartner contributed to the maintenance of the Center’s social media platforms and website, wrote regularly for the Center’s newsletters, interfaced between the Center and students, contributed to the maintenance of donor relations, and many other office duties. Baumgartner shares in the Center’s mission of developing and supporting tomorrow’s virtuous and informed leaders and citizens. Baumgartner graduated Olivet Nazarene University in 2020 with a major in History and a double minor in Legal Studies and Business. Baumgartner intends on pursuing a profession in International Law and local government, areas in which virtuous leaders are desperately needed.

Baumgartner is a 2018 graduate of the Law, Justice, and Culture Institute.

Lily Jarzabkowski

Marketing Communications Assistant

Lily Jarzabkowski is a junior Political Science major with a double minor in Legal Studies and Philosophy. She is from Wheaton, Illinois and served as Vice-President of the Center-sponsored Law and Politics Society. Additionally, she worked as the Executive Officer for Student Relations for the Olivet Associated Student Council. Lily enjoyed playing the violin in the University Orchestra and being involved in multiple campus ministries. Lily intends to graduate from Olivet and attend law school. She aspires to use the law to advocate for those whose voices are stifled. Lily worked at the Center in the marketing and communications department.

Lily is a 2018 graduate of the Law, Justice, and Culture Institute.

Bryce Poole

Admissions Ambassador and Intern

Bryce is a junior from Nashville, TN, double majoring in Political Science and Public Policy (domestic concentration) with a minor in Legal Studies. Outside of being on the LPS cabinet, Bryce was elected to serve as Junior President of the Associated Student Council at ONU. Bryce also worked as a resident assistant in Grand Apartments and was involved in theatre. Bryce is passionate about law as a way to provide a voice to the voiceless.
