On November 1, the Center hosted an open house during Olivet’s homecoming weekend. Over 60 people visited the Center’s new offices, located directly across the street from the main gate of Olivet’s campus. In conjunction with the open house, the Center contacted nearly 200 Olivet alumni who are engaged in law, government, politics, or other types of public service. Alumni and friends met Professor Charlie Emmerich and the Center team and shared stories about their Olivet experiences, as well as their various callings to public life.

The open house was spearheaded by Zach Bohannon, the Center’s new full-time director. Hired in early October as part of the Olivet-Center partnership, Bohannon serves by overseeing operations and constituent relations. Prior to that he served for two years as a volunteer advocate for the Center in his native area of greater Cincinnati. In that role, Bohannon coordinated informational gatherings and follow-up meetings at which Emmerich shared the Center’s mission. With a B.A. and an M.A. from Olivet and experience in Christian education, local government, and politics, Bohannon brings an array of talents and experiences to the Center. Equally important, he brings a passion for educating the next generation of leaders and citizens to be biblically informed, virtuous, and engaged.
