The Center for Law and Culture’s sponsored club, the Law and Politics Society (LPS) at Olivet Nazarene University, celebrated earlier this fall semester National Constitutional Heritage Week by hosting a “Docs n’ Donuts” event.

The event took place on September 24 in the university’s Leadership Center, and students were able to come and learn about the United States’ most important legal documents, while enjoying some donuts. LPS President, Lily Jarzabkowski, lead a presentation and read from a variety of foundational documents such as the Constitution, the Congressman’s Prayer, the Declaration of Independence, and George Washington’s farewell address. The event also featured a time of discussion and reflection on our Christian response to the way our Constitution is interpreted in current affairs.

LPS Treasurer, Jeremy Pilz, said, “Politics are a part of our everyday lives and it is important to know how we can become more knowledgeable in these areas and participate in them as Christians.”
