In the 2018 midterm election, The Center for Law and Culture (CLC) was proud to have multiple of its legal studies minor students participate in a local campaign. This local campaign was for Lindsay Parkhurst, who was running for state representative for the 79th district of Illinois. Lindsay Parkhurst is a conservative candidate who works to be a “voice for the voiceless”. She has a background as a small business owner, defense and general practice attorney. On October 18th, Olivet Nazarene University’s Law and Politics Society (LPS), sponsored by the Center for Law and Culture, hosted a movie showing for the award-winning film Human Zoos. Human Zoos discusses the horrors of scientific racism and the dangers of manipulating an entire race. The sterilization of people with disabilities in order to not “pass along bad genes” is also discussed in this film.
